StressGuard

StressGuard is the fast-acting, concentrated liquid supplement for the moments livestock are under the most pressure: weaning, transport, feedlot induction and sudden diet change. It helps calm the animal through the stress event itself, and it supports immune function at exactly the point stress is knocking it down, which is when animals are most vulnerable to going backwards. Where the year-round products build long-term herd health, StressGuard is built for the high-pressure events where producers want to see results in days, not seasons. Every kilogram an animal loses on the truck is a kilogram already paid to grow, and StressGuard helps protect it.

Why producers choose StressGuard

Immune Support

Stress knocks immune function when animals are mixed, trucked and yarded. Key trace minerals with amino acids help hold immune function and metabolic stability when intake drops.

Transport

Supports calmer travel and helps reduce weight shrinkage, assists hydration in transit, supports a faster return to feed and water, and aids in reducing dark cutters to support MSA grading.

Weaning

Supports a calmer transition through separation, encourages an earlier return to feed and water, and helps animals settle and adapt quicker with less time spent sulking.

Feedlotting

Supports smoother induction and helps animals go back onto feed faster, with less downtime after trucking.

Diet Change

Helps animals adjust through a major feed transition, supporting intake and metabolic stability when the ration or pasture changes suddenly.

Reproductive Support

Helps support reproductive performance through stress events such as transport and handling.

Active ingredients

Every LivestockIQ supplement combines highly bioavailable trace elements, naturally derived amino acids and fulvic acid electrolytes, with targeted ingredients added where needed for specific production challenges.

Together, these ingredients support nutrient absorption, feed utilisation, animal health and performance to help livestock thrive when it matters most.

Target analysis

Every batch of StressGuard is independently analysed by a NATA-accredited laboratory to verify the concentration of its essential trace elements.

While the analysis table shows the target levels of each mineral, the performance of StressGuard comes from more than trace elements alone. Its formulation combines chelated trace elements, amino acids from seagrass and kelp and natural electrolytes to support livestock through periods of physical and environmental stress.

Unlike conventional mineral supplements, this integrated delivery system helps maximise nutrient availability where it matters most.

Essential elements Target result Unit
Boron, B 900 mg/L

More than minerals

16 AMINO ACIDS

Sourced from kelp and seagrass extracts, these amino acids are the building blocks of protein production and help livestock better utilise both dry and green feed. Key amino acids include glutamic acid, threonine, arginine and glycine, the ones that matter most under stress.

Chelated Trace Elements

StressGuard contains highly bioavailable chelated trace elements, including copper, zinc and selenium, to support immune function, tissue repair and recovery during periods of increased physical and environmental stress.

Natural Electrolytes

Derived from fulvic acid, the natural electrolytes assist nutrient transport throughout the body. Fulvic acid is highly soluble and naturally binds with minerals, helping move nutrients into cells where they can be more effectively utilised.

Application methods

Transport

For best results, apply StressGuard 3–7 days before transport. Avoid dosing within 24 hours of trucking, as the formulation requires time to take effect.

Livestock must drink the dosed water for StressGuard to be effective. If you’re not using a ProDispenser, avoid adding large amounts of product directly to the water at once, as this may discourage livestock from drinking.

Custom dosing schedules can be tailored to your operation. Contact Head Office on (08) 8725 4668
for advice.

Dispense StressGuard through the water trough over 3 days with the ProDispenser. No pumps, no power, no daily dosing.

Measure. Connect. Dose. Repeat.

1. Measure: Calculate the dose for the number and weight of your livestock. Example: 200 breeders × 50 mL/head = 10L.

2. Fill & connect: Pour the dose into a clean, empty DosingDrum, leaving about 20% air space, then securely attach the ProDispenser.

3. Dose: Place the drum upside down in the trough and let it float freely. The ProDispenser slowly releases the product over 3 days as water replaces it. At the end, empty any remaining liquid into the trough.

4. Repeat: One dose lasts up to 6 weeks and covers any stress events in that window. After that, return to your year-round ULTRANEX or MEGANEX program, or dose again for the next event.

Important

  • Never attach the ProDispenser directly to a full product drum.
  • For best results, empty and refill the trough with fresh, cool water before dosing.
  • A small amount of light, tea-coloured liquid left in the drum after 3 days is normal.
  • For small doses, add water to the DosingDrum if it needs extra weight to stay stable.
  • Do not mix with other products in the water supply, including urea.
  • No ProDispenser, or a shorter dosing window? Divide the dose evenly and apply manually. Example: 12L over two days = 2L morning, noon and night each day.

Add the full required dose directly to the tank 3–7 days before transport.
Example: If trucking at 9:00 am Monday, apply the dose by Friday morning.

Keep the tank operating normally and, where multiple tanks are used, dose the tank closest to the livestock.

Important

  • Use a clean tank with minimal sediment.
  • Avoid overflowing the tank to prevent product loss.
  • Maintain water flow to keep StressGuard evenly suspended and ensure stock have continuous access to dosed water.

If a ProDispenser is unavailable, divide the total dose into three equal applications over two to three days.

Example: total dose of 1L

  • About 330mL per day over three days, or
  • About 330mL in the afternoon, 330mL the following morning and the remaining 330mL that evening.

1L doses 20 adult cattle (50mL) or 100 adult sheep or goats (10mL).

Spread applications evenly and ensure livestock have uninterrupted access to the dosed water.

Avoid adding too much product at once, as highly concentrated water may discourage animals from drinking.

Begin applying StressGuard to hay 3–7 days before transport.

Apply one-third of the total dose each day over three days and mix with sufficient water to coat the hay evenly.

Example: If trucking on Monday morning, apply StressGuard on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Weaning

Pre-weaning in the paddock

When dosing cows and calves before weaning, calculate the dose based on the number and weight of each class of livestock.

Example:
200 weaners @ 250kg = 30 mL/head = 6L
200 cows @ 50mL/head = 10L
Total dose = 16L

Add the required dose to a clean drum, attach the ProDispenser and place it in a clean trough for a minimum of three days. Once dosing is complete, pour any remaining solution into the trough.

Follow-up: Six weeks later, return to your year-round ULTRANEX or MEGANEX program (StockForce for sheep).

Post-weaning in the yards

Place the ProDispenser into the trough as soon as weaners enter the yards. Avoid placing it earlier, as the water may become too concentrated before livestock begin drinking.

Example:
200 weaners @ 250kg = 30 mL/head = 6L

Prepare the ProDispenser as above and leave it in the trough for at least three days before emptying any remaining solution into the trough.

Follow-up: Six weeks later, return to your year-round ULTRANEX or MEGANEX program (StockForce for sheep).

FAQ

Three to seven days before and never within 24 hours of loading. It needs time to be absorbed in the animal’s system, so a dose as the truck pulls up is too late. Get it in a few days ahead of weaning, transport or feedlot entry.

No, it replaces that dose, it doesn’t add to it. At weaning or before trucking, StressGuard stands in for the year-round dose, then the year-round program picks up again six weeks later. Never run two LivestockIQ products through the trough at once. The six-week timing isn’t a strict rule. If your trucking or weaning plans change, StressGuard can be used safely as long as it’s at least 2 weeks since your last LivestockIQ dose.

The concentration is too high, which puts animals off the water. Use the ProDispenser, which meters it evenly over three days, or split the dose across the day (morning, midday, evening) so it’s never too strong at once.

Amino Acids

Amino acids are the building blocks of every protein in the animal, from muscle and milk to wool, hooves and the enzymes and hormones that keep it performing. When supply falls short, growth, condition, fertility and recovery all suffer.

16 amino acids9 essential7 non-essentialFrom seagrass and kelp

StressGuard delivers all 16 in their natural ratio from seagrass and kelp, which supports absorption and metabolic efficiency in a way isolated synthetic amino acids cannot.

Essential amino acids (9)

The animal cannot make enough of these itself, so they need to come from the diet.

LeucineDrives muscle protein synthesis and supports tissue repair and growth.
IsoleucineSupports energy use, muscle function and endurance.
ValineSupports muscle metabolism and energy at times of high demand.
LysineA key building block for muscle and growth; supports calcium absorption and immune function.
MethionineA sulphur amino acid behind wool and hoof keratin; supports growth.
PhenylalanineUsed to make tyrosine and important hormones and nerve messengers.
Key for StressGuard
ThreonineSupports gut lining integrity, immune function and protein balance.
HistidineSupports growth and healthy blood.
Key for StressGuard
ArginineSupports reproductive function, circulation and tissue repair.

Non-essential amino acids (7)

AlanineHelps supply glucose for energy.
Aspartic acidInvolved in energy metabolism; helps carry minerals such as magnesium.
Key for StressGuard
Glutamic acidCentral to protein metabolism and a fuel source for gut cells.
Key for StressGuard
GlycineHelps supply energy and forms part of collagen.
ProlineA main part of collagen and connective tissue; supports milk production.
TyrosineA building block for thyroid hormones and other proteins.
SerinePart of wool keratin; supports protein and fat metabolism.
Amino acids make minerals work harderMost trace elements work as enzyme partners, and enzymes are proteins built from amino acids. Supplying both together, carried by natural fulvic acid electrolytes, helps the animal absorb and use more of what it is given. These are preformed amino acids the animal can use directly, not urea the rumen has to convert first.

Trace Elements & Minerals

Minerals are needed in small amounts but do big jobs. Most work as enzyme partners that drive growth, fertility, immune function and repair. Australian soils and pasture often run short, and the shortfall is rarely visible until production slips.

Natural Electrolytes

Fulvic acid is the third part of every LivestockIQ formulation, and the part that helps the other two work as well as they do. It is one of nature’s most effective natural electrolytes, produced in Australia using certified organic humic peat as the base raw material.

What fulvic acid does

Carries nutrients into cellsFully soluble, it bonds with minerals and can carry 60 or more minerals and trace elements into living cells.
Lifts bioavailabilityIts low molecular weight helps the nutrients it carries become bio-available, not just present in the gut.
Supports hydrationElectrolytic properties help restore electrical balance after stress, supporting hydration and nerve and muscle function.
Protected deliveryOur chelated formulation is protected through the rumen and absorbed via the small intestine.
The hero of StressGuardStressGuard carries an elevated load of natural fulvic acid electrolytes, supporting hydration, nerve and muscle function and metabolic stability at exactly the moment intake drops and stress peaks.

Why we've added boron

Boron is a trace mineral that works behind the scenes. Rather than doing one job on its own, it influences how the body handles other key minerals. That’s why it’s now included in our conventional livestock formulations.

Where boron plays a role
Mineral metabolismBoron interacts with how the body uses calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and vitamin D.
Calcium and phosphorus useTrials in pigs and poultry have linked boron to better calcium and phosphorus retention and stronger bones.1,2
Bone and skeletal developmentBoron is involved in bone formation and mineralisation, alongside calcium, phosphorus and magnesium.2
Antioxidant and immune activityReviews link boron to antioxidant activity and immune response, helping support animals through stress.2
What about cattle and sheep? Research in ruminants is still developing. Studies in dairy cows around calving have looked at boron's effect on energy metabolism and colostrum, with promising early results.3,4 We see boron as a supporting player that rounds out our formulations, working alongside the trace elements and 16 amino acids already in the range.
OrganicMax* and OrganicGuard* remain boron-free to meet organic input requirements.
