Why Horse Owners Use EquineElite

Recovery After Work

Supports horses following strenuous exercise, helping maintain hydration and recovery.

Hydration & Electrolyte Support

Natural electrolytes assist fluid balance and recovery during periods of work, travel and stress.

Growth & Development

Provides amino acids and trace elements important for growing horses and young stock.

Condition & Coat Health

Supports healthy skin, coat condition and overall presentation.

Broodmare Support

Provides nutritional support during pregnancy and lactation.

Simple & Practical

Easy fortnightly dosing through water or feed with no complicated supplementation program.

Active ingredients

Three components, plus over 90 natural nutrients. One bioavailable formulation, working in synergy like no other equine supplement we’ve seen.

Where many horse supplements deliver a single nutrient group, EquineElite brings amino acids, chelated trace elements and natural electrolytes together, drawn from kelp and seagrass extract, so more of what you feed actually reaches the horse.

Key seasonal application

EquineElite can be used all year round, every two weeks, when animals have access to troughs. If this isn’t feasible in your operation, consider using over these key production periods:

After Strenuous Exercise
Support recovery and rehydration following work or training. For racehorses, do not use within two weeks prior to horses racing. EquineElite is designed for rehydration and recovery after strenuous work.

During Travel
Assist hydration and recovery during transport and competition schedules.

Growing Young Horses
Support development, growth and nutritional requirements.

Pregnancy & Lactation
Provide nutritional support during increased demand.

Year-Round Maintenance
Use every two weeks to help maintain condition, coat quality and wellbeing.

Dose rates

EquineElite is designed for simple, ongoing nutritional support. For best results, apply directly to the water supply, with the total dose split over two days to ensure even intake. Repeat every two weeks for maintenance, or add to feed where water application isn’t suitable.

Important: EquineElite contains cobalt and selenium. Not for use in racing or performance horses where cobalt threshold regulations apply. Do not use within two weeks prior to racing.

Repeat every 2 weeks.

Advanced nutritional support

Every batch of EquineElite is independently analysed by a NATA-accredited laboratory to verify the concentration of its essential trace elements.

While the analysis table shows the target levels of each mineral, the performance of EquineElite comes from more than trace elements alone. Its formulation combines chelated trace elements, naturally derived amino acids from seagrass and kelp and natural electrolytes to support nutrient absorption, retention and utilisation in horses.

This integrated delivery system helps maximise nutrient availability where it matters most.

More than minerals

16 Amino Acids

Sourced from kelp and seagrass extracts, these naturally derived amino acids are essential for muscle development, recovery and overall performance in horses. They also support the efficient utilisation of pasture and supplementary feed, helping maintain condition and energy levels. Key amino acids include Lysine, Leucine, Isoleucine and Threonine.

Chelated Minerals

EquineElite contains highly bioavailable chelated trace elements and minerals to support essential nutritional requirements in horses. Together with amino acids and natural electrolytes, these trace elements support muscle function, recovery, condition and overall health.

Natural Electrolytes

Derived from fulvic acid, the natural electrolytes assist nutrient transport throughout the body. Fulvic acid is highly soluble and naturally binds with minerals, helping improve the absorption and retention of nutrients so they can be more effectively utilised.

water trough (Recommended)

For the best results we recommend application via the water supply. With most LivestockIQ supplements we would usually recommend using the ProDispenser but because you will be using smaller amounts for horses, it is best to pour straight into the water supply.

Feed Application

EquineElite can also be added to feed. If dosing onto feed, add an extra 10% to allow for wastage.

FAQ

No. It contains cobalt and selenium, and cobalt is subject to threshold rules in racing, so it’s not for racing or performance horses where those apply. Never use within two weeks of racing. It’s built for working horses, young stock and broodmares.

Horse doses are too small for the dispenser to meter (20ml for a mature horse, 10ml for lighter ones). Pour it straight into the water supply, split across two days, every two weeks. For several horses, total the dose, halve it and apply over the two days.

Better to use EquineElite. It’s the only formula built for horses, with dose rates and a nutrient balance suited to how they work and recover, and no urea. The ruminant products are made for cattle, sheep and goats, whose needs are quite different.

Amino Acids

Amino acids are the building blocks of every protein in the animal, from muscle and milk to coat, hooves and the enzymes and hormones that keep it performing. When supply falls short, growth, condition, fertility and recovery all suffer.

16 amino acids9 essential7 non-essentialFrom kelp and seagrass

EquineElite delivers all 16 in their natural ratio from kelp and seagrass, which supports absorption and metabolic efficiency in a way isolated synthetic amino acids cannot.

Essential amino acids (9)

The animal cannot make enough of these itself, so they need to come from the diet.

Key for EquineElite
LeucineDrives muscle protein synthesis and supports tissue repair and growth.
Key for EquineElite
IsoleucineSupports energy use, muscle function and endurance.
ValineSupports muscle metabolism and energy at times of high demand.
Key for EquineElite
LysineA key building block for muscle and growth; supports calcium absorption and immune function.
MethionineA sulphur amino acid behind wool and hoof keratin; supports growth.
PhenylalanineUsed to make tyrosine and important hormones and nerve messengers.
Key for EquineElite
ThreonineSupports gut lining integrity, immune function and protein balance.
HistidineSupports growth and healthy blood.
ArginineSupports reproductive function, circulation and tissue repair.

Non-essential amino acids (7)

AlanineHelps supply glucose for energy.
Aspartic acidInvolved in energy metabolism; helps carry minerals such as magnesium.
Glutamic acidCentral to protein metabolism and a fuel source for gut cells.
GlycineHelps supply energy and forms part of collagen.
ProlineA main part of collagen and connective tissue; supports milk production.
TyrosineA building block for thyroid hormones and other proteins.
SerinePart of wool keratin; supports protein and fat metabolism.
Amino acids make minerals work harderMost trace elements work as enzyme partners, and enzymes are proteins built from amino acids. Supplying both together, carried by natural fulvic acid electrolytes, helps horses absorb and use more of what they are fed. EquineElite contains no urea.

Trace Elements & Minerals

Minerals are needed in small amounts but do big jobs. Most work as enzyme partners that drive growth, fertility, immune function and repair. Work, travel, growth and breeding all lift demand.

10 chelated mineralsEvery batch NATA tested

Major minerals

Needed in larger amounts. Target analysis per litre of EquineElite.

Magnesium2,800 mg/LEssential for muscle and nerve function and energy metabolism. It cannot be stored, so supply needs to be steady.
Potassium550 mg/LSupports fluid balance and nerve and muscle function.
Sodium1,500 mg/LSupports hydration, fluid balance and nutrient transport.
Sulphur16,000 mg/LNeeded to build sulphur amino acids such as methionine, for protein, coat and hoof.

Trace elements

Needed in small amounts. Target analysis per litre of EquineElite.

Copper4,000 mg/LSupports healthy blood, immune function, coat colour and connective tissue strength.
Zinc5,300 mg/LSupports skin, hoof and coat health, tissue repair, growth and immune function.
Cobalt2,000 mg/LUsed by gut microbes to make vitamin B12, which supports energy metabolism and appetite.
Manganese4,000 mg/LActivates enzymes involved in fertility, skeletal development and growth.
Selenium990 mg/LWorks with vitamin E as an antioxidant; supports immune function, muscle health and fertility.
Boron700 mg/LHelps support calcium and phosphorus use, bone development and reproductive function.
Chelated for absorptionEach mineral in EquineElite is chelated and carried by natural fulvic acid electrolytes, with amino acids alongside, so more of it is absorbed and used rather than passing straight through. Levels are set for the job EquineElite is built to do.

Natural Electrolytes

Fulvic acid is the third part of every LivestockIQ formulation, and the part that helps the other two work as well as they do. It is one of nature’s most effective natural electrolytes, produced in Australia using certified organic humic peat as the base raw material.

Natural electrolytesFrom fulvic acidMade in Australia

What fulvic acid does

Carries nutrients into cellsFully soluble, it bonds with minerals and can carry 60 or more minerals and trace elements into living cells.
Lifts bioavailabilityIts low molecular weight helps the nutrients it carries become bio-available, not just present in the gut.
Supports hydrationElectrolytic properties help restore electrical balance after stress, supporting hydration and nerve and muscle function.
Recovery after workHelps maintain hydration and fluid balance after work, training and travel.
Synergy, not a single ingredientAmino acids, chelated minerals and fulvic acid work together. Fulvic acid is the carrier that turns the amino acid and mineral load into a delivery system, not just a recipe.

Application Methods

Horse doses are small, so EquineElite is poured straight into the water supply rather than through the ProDispenser.

20mL mature horses10mL young or light horsesEvery 2 weeks

One horse

1Measure20mL for a mature horse, 10mL for a young or light horse.
2PourSplit the dose over two days, straight into the water supply, or onto feed.
3RepeatDose again every two weeks to maintain condition.

Several horses on one water point

Total the dose for all horses, split it in half and pour into the water over two days, so every horse gets an even share rather than the first ones drinking the lot. Example: 4 mature horses × 20mL = 80mL, so 40mL on day 1 and 40mL on day 2.

Feed application

EquineElite can also be added to feed. If dosing onto feed, add an extra 10% to allow for wastage, and it can be applied in one go.

ImportantEquineElite contains cobalt and selenium. Not for use in racing or performance horses where cobalt threshold regulations apply. Do not use within two weeks prior to racing.

New in the range

Why we've added boron

Boron is a trace mineral that works behind the scenes. Rather than doing one job on its own, it influences how the body handles other key minerals. That’s why it’s now included in our conventional livestock formulations.

Where boron plays a role
Mineral metabolismBoron interacts with how the body uses calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and vitamin D.
Calcium and phosphorus useTrials in pigs and poultry have linked boron to better calcium and phosphorus retention and stronger bones.1,2
Bone and skeletal developmentBoron is involved in bone formation and mineralisation, alongside calcium, phosphorus and magnesium.2
Antioxidant and immune activityReviews link boron to antioxidant activity and immune response, helping support animals through stress.2
What about cattle and sheep? Research in ruminants is still developing. Studies in dairy cows around calving have looked at boron's effect on energy metabolism and colostrum, with promising early results.3,4 We see boron as a supporting player that rounds out our formulations, working alongside the trace elements and 16 amino acids already in the range.
OrganicMax* and OrganicGuard* remain boron-free to meet organic input requirements.
