Green Cap

Pour the required amount directly into the tank three to seven days before trucking. For example, if you’re trucking at 9am on Monday, pour the full amount into the tank on the Friday morning before, or on the Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of that same week.

Calculate the amount of product needed by the weights and number of livestock watering from the tank.

EXAMPLE:
200 breeders at 50mls per head = 10L

• Pour the required amount directly into the tank. Do not turn off the tank – let it fill normally. If you have multiple tanks in line, dose the closest tank to stock.
• Beachport should not be put in a tank with excessive sediment. Make sure the tank is clean.
• You can pour the dose directly into the tank but make sure it doesn’t overflow of Green Cap will be lost. Check the tank has no leaks!
• Do not turn off the tank water supply or you’ll risk your stock running out of water. Water flow is essential to allow the Green Cap to suspend in the water.

It is highly recommended to use the Beachport Dispenser for water application but if this method isn’t viable, you can manually dose the trough, however dose must be split into thirds.

For example, if the numbers in the yard dictate that you need 9L of product, then pour 3L in the trough initially (afternoon), followed by a second dose of 3L the next morning, followed by a third dose of 3L later that afternoon. The more spread out the better. Ensure the cattle are drinking.

If you’re using a jug to manually dose, take care to not overdose the trough.

Hay application can be started three to seven days before trucking.

If mixing with feed or pouring on hay, add one third of the recommended dose each day over three consecutive days.

EXAMPLE: If trucking at 9am on Monday, pour the Green Cap and water mixture onto hay on the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday right before.

Mix Green Cap with enough water to cover most of the hay and ensure even dosage.

If you are treating both cows and calves prior to weaning, count your number of stock and dose according to their weights.

EXAMPLE: 200 weaners and 200 cows
200 weaners at 250kg at 30mls per head = 6L
200 cows at over 400kg at 50mls per head   = 10L
TOTAL = 16L

• Put 16L into a clean, empty 20L drum.
• Screw the Beachport Dispenser tightly onto the drum.
• Ensure the trough has been cleaned thoroughly to prevent the inlet on the dispenser from blocking when the water is sucked back in.
• Drop the drum with dispenser into the trough. It will automatically right itself into the correct position. The stainless-steel Beachport Dispenser will be under water.
• Let the drum move freely around the trough – stock will not be able to knock it out.
• Leave the drum dispensing in the trough for at least three days. Return and empty the remaining water mix in the drum into the trough. Job’s done!
• Six weeks later you can treat stock again with either White Cap, Blue Cap or Black Cap, depending on your area.

Put the product and dispenser into the trough as weaners enter the yards.  Don’t put it in any sooner, as the water may become too strong if there are no animals in there to drink it.

EXAMPLE:
200 weaners at 250kg is 30mls per head = 6L.

• Put 6L into a clean, empty 10L drum
• Screw the dispenser tightly onto the drum.
• Where possible, empty trough to ensure clean cool water.
• Drop the drum with dispenser into the trough. It will automatically right itself into the correct position. The stainless-steel Beachport Dispenser will be under water.
• Let the drum move freely around the trough – stock will not be able to knock it out.
• Leave the drum dispensing in the trough for at least three days. Return and empty the remaining water mix in the drum into the trough. Job’s done!
• Six weeks later you can treat stock again with either White Cap, Blue Cap or Black Cap, depending on your area.

For best results use at three to seven days before trucking, but not within 24hrs of transport or the product won’t have enough time to work. These amounts last for six weeks.
