DOSE STEPS

Work out how many livestock are on the water point.

EXAMPLE: 200 breeders at 50mls per head = 10L

  • Measure 10L of White Cap into a clean, empty 20L drum.
  • Screw the Beachport Dispenser tightly onto the drum.
  • Where possible, empty trough to ensure clean cool water.
  • Drop the drum with dispenser into the trough. It will automatically right itself into the correct position. The stainless-steel Beachport Dispenser will be under water.
  • Let the drum move freely around the trough – the stock will not be able to knock it out.
  • Leave the drum dispensing in the trough for at least three days. Return and empty the remaining water mix in the drum into the trough. Job’s done!
  • In six weeks, repeat the process!

The best method of application for our liquid supplements is via the water supply using the stainless-steel Beachport Dispenser, which simply screws onto an empty five, 10L or 20L drum. Empty drums are available to buy if required (if using your own drums ensure they have not previously contained poisons).

Drums must not be completely filled. There needs to be enough space left in the drum for air pressure to build and make the dispenser work. At least half of the drum needs to be filled to ensure effective flow rates.

The dispenser has an inlet and outlet that are constantly under water in the trough, trapping the air inside and maintaining constant air pressure. For every millilitre of product that is released through the outlet, approx. a millilitre of water is sucked back in. For example, if you put 15L of Beachport in a 20L drum, three days later this will have been replaced by 15L of water.

NOTE: DO NOT screw Beachport Dispenser directly onto a full drum of product. Allow the drum to move freely in the trough, as movement is part of the distribution of product. You can also add extra water in the drum if using low volumes of Beachport product. This will help to avoid too much air pressure in warmer weather, as it can force low volumes to dispense faster.

IMPORTANT: Under no circumstances can Beachport Liquid Minerals be mixed with other products in the water supply. This includes Urea.

  • Calculate the amount of product needed by the number of livestock watering from the tank.
  • Pour the required amount directly into the tank. Do not turn off the tank – let it fill normally. If you have multiple tanks in line, dose the closest tank to stock.
  • Beachport should not be put in a tank with excessive sediment. Make sure the tank is clean.
  • You can pour the dose directly into the tank, but make sure it doesn’t overflow. Check the tank has no leaks!
  • Do not turn off the tank water supply or you’ll risk your stock running out of water. Water flow is essential to allow the White Cap to cloud in the water supply.

Calculate the amount of product needed by the number of livestock being fed out.

  • Mix Beachport product with enough water to cover most of the hay and ensure even dosage.
  • Add an extra 10% of product to allow for wastage.
  • Ensure at least two applications to ensure even distribution.

Due to the variables associated with feed lotting, a tailored approach with dispensing is recommended. To find out how White Cap can best benefit your feedlot situation, please contact our Head Office.

Transport Guidelines

  • Never pour all the required amount of Beachport Liquid Minerals Green Cap into the water trough in one application. The aniseed in Green Cap attracts animals but too much may, in some cases, make it too sweet and they won’t drink. Also be aware that if you put it all in at once you take the risk of only the lead getting the product.
  • Always check that cattle are drinking the water after dosing water with green cap.
  • It takes Green Cap at least 12 hours to get into the system of the animal. To ensure that all stock get an even amount of Green Cap, at least another 12 hours on dosed water is recommended.

NOTE: Don’t give first dose of Green Cap under 24 hours of trucking. Without sufficient time to get into the system of the animal, it won’t be effective.

Dose with BLM Dispenser over a 3 day period. For a shorter period of time, split the dose evenly and refer to manual trough application instructions.

Pour required dose amount directly into tank at least 3 days before trucking. Make sure tank doesn’t overflow (Green Cap will be lost via overflow) and allow tank to refill normally. This can be done up to a week before transport.

EXAMPLE: If trucking at 9.00am Monday, pour the full amount into the tank on Friday morning.

If treating a trough in a yard prior to trucking or with weaners just after separation and you are using a jug to pour the Beachport Green Cap into the trough, it is critical that you DO NOT overdose the trough. You may risk having too much product available initially, the increased aniseed smell and taste may reduce their water consumption. Split into at least thirds and pour into trough in the early morning, early afternoon and early the next morning. The more spread out, the better.

This is also critical in yard situations where high flow water supply and small volume troughs with large stock numbers, in this instance to split early afternoon and morning for three days is advised, to ensure even dosage over the mob.

EXAMPLE: If the numbers in the yard dictate that you need 9 litres of product, then pour 1.5 litres in trough initially (early afternoon), followed by a second dose of 1.5 litres the next morning. Repeat this until 9 litres are dispensed into trough. Ensure livestock are drinking.

Can be dosed up to a week before trucking with excellent results.

Mix the required amount of product with approx 50% water that is sufficient enough to be able to evenly pour onto the hay that’s been fed out.  Add an extra 10% of the product to allow for wastage. Spread out the application over 3 day period prior to trucking. This application can be started up to a week before trucking with excellent results.

EXAMPLE: If trucking at 9.00am Monday, pour the Green Cap mixture onto hay Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a third of BLM each day.

Weaning Guidelines

Add Green Cap to the water trough using the Beachport Dispenser as soon as possible in the weaning yard or paddock once the animals have been segregated.

If you are treating both cows and calves prior to weaning, count your number of stock and dose according to their weights.

EXAMPLE: 200 weaners and 200 cows
200 weaners at 250kg at 30mls per head = 6L
200 cows at over 400kg at 50mls per head   = 10L
TOTAL = 16L

  • Put 16L into a clean, empty 20L drum.
  • Screw the Beachport Dispenser tightly onto the drum.
  • Ensure the trough has been cleaned thoroughly to prevent the inlet on the dispenser from blocking when the water is sucked back in.
  • Drop the drum with dispenser into the trough. It will automatically right itself into the correct position. The stainless-steel Beachport Dispenser will be under water.
  • Let the drum move freely around the trough – stock will not be able to knock it out.
  • Leave the drum dispensing in the trough for at least three days. Return and empty the remaining water mix in the drum into the trough. Job’s done!
  • Six weeks later you can treat stock again with either White CapBlue Capor Black Cap, depending on your area.

Put the product and dispenser into the trough as weaners enter the yards. Don’t put it in any sooner, as the water may become too strong if there are no animals in there to drink it.

EXAMPLE: 200 weaners at 250kg is 30mls per head = 6L.

  • Put 6L into a clean, empty 10L drum
  • Screw the dispenser tightly onto the drum.
  • Where possible, empty trough to ensure clean cool water.
  • Drop the drum with dispenser into the trough. It will automatically right itself into the correct position. The stainless-steel Beachport Dispenser will be under water.

Feedlot Guidelines

Recommended feedlot introduction protocol: clean trough on introduction to pen and place dispensing drum in trough. Remove at night-time and replace after cleaning the trough the next morning. Repeat this for three days.

Due to the variables associated with feedlotting, a tailored approach may be required. To find out how Green Cap can best benefit your feedlot situation, please contact our Head Office.

Horses

Red Cap can be used by pouring directly into the water trough or mixed with feed. Red Cap is designed for rehydration after strenuous work, not before. See below for further information on each application method.

Red Cap’s best method of application is via the water supply. When using Beachport Liquid Minerals products with cattle, sheep and goats we recommend using the Beachport Dispenser. However, because you will be using smaller amounts for horses, it is best to pour the dose straight into the water supply.

DOSE STEPS for multiple horses

  • Work out how many horses are on a water point and multiply by 20mls for mature horses or 10mls for younger and light horses.
  • Split the total amount in half and dose evenly in two applications over two days to ensure evenly dosed. Pour the amounts directly into the water supply.
  • For horses not in work, repeat the above process every two weeks for health and condition.

DOSE STEPS for an individual horse

  • Dose amount: 20mls for mature horses or 10mls for younger and light horses.
  • Pour the dose amount directly into the water supply.
  • For horses not in work, repeat the above process every two weeks for health and condition.
  • Mix the required amount of Red Cap with enough water to pour the mixture evenly onto feed.
  • Add an extra 10% of Red Cap to allow for wastage.
  • If you are dosing more than one horse, dose over two applications.
  • If you are dosing an individual horse, the dose can be applied directly onto feed in one application.

Cattle

DOSE STEPS

NOTE: First dose is always a full dose (50ml dose for breeders) to elevate levels and then a half dose (25mls) every 3 weeks to keep levels elevated through critical periods.

  • Work out how many stock are on the water point: e.g. First dose for 200 breeders x 50ml = 10L.
  • Then three weeks later continue to dose at half the dose rate every three weeks to keep magnesium levels elevated. e.g. 200 breeders x 25mls = 5L.
  • Measure 5L of Yellow Cap into a clean, empty 10L drum.

Water flow is essential to allow the Organic White Cap to cloud in the water supply.

DOSE STEPS

Work out how many livestock are on the water point.

  • Work out how many stock on water point: e.g. 1000 ewes x 10 ml = 10 litres.
  • Measure 10L of Organic White Cap into a clean, empty 20L drum.

Transport Guidelines

For best results dose stock with Organic Green Cap three to seven days before trucking. Don’t dose within 24 hours of transport or the product won’t have time to take effect. See below for specific guidelines on trough, tank and feed applications.

If you are not using the Beachport Dispenser, take care not to pour too much product into the water at once. This could deter your animals from drinking. For this product to take effect, animals must drink the water.

*Shorter and longer dose periods can be calculated to suit specific needs. For tailored solutions speak to our Customer Service or call (08) 8725 4668.

Using the Beachport Dispenser, disperse via water trough over a three-day period.

DOSE STEPS

Calculate the amount of product needed by the weights and number of livestock watering from the tank.

EXAMPLE: 200 breeders at 50mls per head = 10L

  • Measure 10L of Organic Green Cap into a clean, empty 20L drum.
  • Leave the drum dispensing in the trough for three days. Return and empty the remaining water mix in the drum into the trough.

For a shorter period, split the dose evenly and refer to manual trough application instructions.

NOTE: To avoid product being too strong in the trough split into as many applications as possible into the time applicable. E.g. Dosing 12L over 2 days: manually dose 2L in the morning, noon and night over the 2 days.

Pour the required amount directly into the tank three to seven days before trucking. For example, if you’re trucking at 9am on Monday, pour the full amount into the tank on the Friday morning before, or on the Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of that same week.

Calculate the amount of product needed by the weights and number of livestock watering from the tank.

EXAMPLE: 200 breeders at 50mls per head = 10L

  • Pour the required amount directly into the tank. Do not turn off the tank – let it fill normally. If you have multiple tanks in line, dose the closest tank to stock.
  • Beachport should not be put in a tank with excessive sediment. Make sure the tank is clean.
  • You can pour the dose directly into the tank but make sure it doesn’t overflow of Organic Green Cap will be lost. Check the tank has no leaks!
  • Do not turn off the tank water supply or you’ll risk your stock running out of water. Water flow is essential to allow the Organic Green Cap to suspend in the water.

The recommended manual dosage method is to split the dose into thirds. For example, if the numbers in the yard dictate that you need 9L of product, then pour 3L in the trough initially (afternoon), followed by a second dose of 3L the next morning, followed by a third dose of 3L later that afternoon. The more spread out the better. Ensure the cattle are drinking.

If you’re using a jug to manually dose, take care to not overdose the trough.

Hay application can be started three to seven days before trucking.

If mixing with feed or pouring on hay, add one third of the recommended dose each day over three consecutive days. EXAMPLE: If trucking at 9am on Monday, pour the Organic Green Cap and water mixture onto hay on the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday right before.

Mix Organic Green Cap with enough water to cover most of the hay and ensure even dosage.

Weaning Guidelines

Add Organic Green Cap to the water trough using the Beachport Dispenser as soon as possible in the weaning yard or paddock once the animals have been segregated.

If you are treating both cows and calves prior to weaning, count your number of stock and dose according to their weights.

EXAMPLE: 200 weaners and 200 cows
200 weaners at 250kg at 30mls per head = 6L
200 cows at over 400kg at 50mls per head   = 10L
TOTAL = 16L

  • Put 16L into a clean, empty 20L drum.
  • Screw the Beachport Dispenser tightly onto the drum.
  • Where possible, empty trough to ensure clean cool water.
  • Drop the drum with dispenser into the trough. It will automatically right itself into the correct position. The stainless-steel Beachport Dispenser will be under water.
  • Let the drum move freely around the trough – stock will not be able to knock it out.
  • Leave the drum dispensing in the trough for at least three days. Return and empty the remaining water mix in the drum into the trough. Job’s done!
  • Six weeks later you can treat stock again with Organic Green Cap for ongoing benefits.

To find out how Organic Green Cap can best benefit your feedlot situation, please contact our Head Office.
